It's kind of a running joke in this house, that if you put something on the stove, and then go off to the internet to wait for it to heat up, the sound of it boiling over will be what brings you back to the kitchen.
So tonight, I rubbed a couple of cast iron pans with corn oil and put them on the stove to season. I smelled hot oil and went back to the kitchen to find... a house full of smoke.
At least it wasn't too warm or too cold outside to put a fan in the window. Cindy came home to find me walking into the kitchen with said fan.
Ah, good times...
