truth

I noticed a friend had the truth on his interest list. I suddenly realized that I didn't have it on my list. The truth is very important to me.

Then I wondered whether I should have the truth or just truth. I asked him why he had the truth instead of merely truth. He had a good reason (which escapes me at the moment), but I decided that there is no one truth, but many - probably an infinite number of truths - and I will continue my search for as many of them as I can accept.

PS. That's 490 people interested in truth, and 35 interested in the truth.

Am I the only person who understands that when you staple a bunch of sheets together, you put them all in the stack so that the staple is in top of the sheet? This rule holds true when the sheets are printed in a "horizontal" fashion. Staple goes on the top left, and the sheets are arranged so that the staple is in the top.

A friend of a friend had to endure a five hour polygraph test, as part of the application for a secret service job. Five hours! This included questions like "have you ever had sex with an animal?" The last question, which he failed with flying colors, was "have you ever committed a crime for which you did not get caught?" He failed, but he said he couldn't think of any significant crimes. Speeding?

I wonder if the test was more about keeping secrets than determining his honesty.

Why would someone leave you a voice-mail message saying they were sending you an e-mail? I could see it, if he wasn't sure you checked your e-mail very often, and it was urgent, but why would he tell you the contents of the e-mail?

I played the game. I went to a Random LiveJournalist. Then I clicked on a friend of his/hers, and continued doing that until I got back to myself.

[livejournal.com profile] spot (tom "spot" callaway)

That's me in five. I tried it thrice. The first time I got seven, leading in with cynnerth, and the second time I got five, leading in with zuul.

Four people are interested in unique interests. [livejournal.com profile] daizee was the first, then me, then [livejournal.com profile] wing added it, and somewhere along the line [livejournal.com profile] danigolden showed up for the party (friend of daizee's).

It is only a little odd that more people are interested in grady's obsession with interests.

There are some numbers that I can understand why people include them as interests.
311, 666, 2000, 2010, 69, etc.

But I'm surprised at how many numbers people list. And I wonder what they all mean.

I can only imagine how you felt when you watched your daughter take her diploma.
The pride and sadness. The memories and the anticipation.
I imagine you shed not a few tears.
They were well earned.
