The big news around here has been the smoke from the Canadian wildfires. We'd occasionally had hazy skies earlier in the year, but the last couple of days have been really bad. The index was up to 250. They were saying Milwaukee was the worst in the nation at that time. And some were saying we were down to one-mile visibility. Not sure either of those statements were true, but they were close. The weather forecasts and reports said "smoke".
I was home on Tuesday and I could see the haze across the back yard, like fog was starting to move in. The sky was cloudless, but there were barely shadows. The last couple of days at the office, I could see clouds and blue(ish) sky above, but the smoke seemed to be hanging low, because I was having trouble seeing buildings in the distance.
