nope, the russians never put a man or woman on the moon........yes, they can get junk and people into orbit, but when you look at their space program, there never was a real program of exploration, just one of domination......read accounts of american astronuts who have spent time in russian equipment orbiting the earth.......safety is not on the top of the list of design criteria........

not to dwell on my ancestal homeland, but it's a place where they can make titanium nuclear powered submarines and still don't know how to butcher meat properly....
i just bid working on an aircraft hanger across the bering sea in russia......and have been involved with other projects in siberia.....siberia is not just the russian far east, it is all of russia east of the urals......if i have the chance to travel there, i "might".......depending upon what's going on and who we are working for......
btw, the aircraft hanger was sized for an American made (Boeing) jet........and Roman Abramavich, the governor of farthest east russian province, has purchased a couple US made aircraft (Beechcraft) to conduct business between his country and ours.....
