The last time I bought trash bags for the kitchen, I got Glad Odor Shield bags. I don’t know why. I wasn’t paying attention, I guess.

Glad Odor Shield bags have a special ingredient that neutralizes trash odors, leaving behind a pleasant fresh scent
  • Neutralizes to help eliminate trash odors
  • Keeps kitchen smelling fresh & clean
  • Fresh scent

Okay, if this ingredient actually neutralizes odor, where does the fresh scent come from? They have to add it. And why isn’t it neutralized too? I think their idea of neutralizing is to counter it with an opposing scent. Well this opposing scent is offensive. I don’t want my home smelling like fresh. I can smell it every time I walk through the kitchen. Once, I bought fresh scented soap by mistake. It stunk up my whole bathroom.

How did they come up with this scent? What thing is it supposed to smell like? How did they get the public to accept it as the smell of freshness?

Right now, I think I’m glad I can’t smell anything
