We wandered around the old Pabst Brewery Complex. The brewery closed in 1996, I think. In the early 2000's, there was a plan to redevelop it all, but that fell through. Half of it has been razed. The oldest, historic buildings were saved, and it's been sold off piecemeal. There are condos and a parking garage, but most of them are still abandoned. Above, is the bar and gift shop area.

Originally it was the First German Methodist Church. It was later used as the Pabst Brewery visitor's center. The back of the building appears in the previous photo.

Sidewalk closed, temporary wildlife nesting area, keep out

I love the barley on the very top.

It amuses me that the Visitor's Center was originally the German Methodist Church--Methodists being such teetotalers. Or, maybe the
"German" part of German Methodist took precedence.

That's probably it. I would expect the church was built for the Pabst workers in the neighborhood.
