When I was in Oaxaca in March, I took a couple of daytime walks around the city. It's a very different city than I'm used to, so everything seemed so photogenic. The locals might feel otherwise.

A guy started a conversation with me, and questioned my choice to take pictures of old things. He was like, "Old things are ugly. I prefer to take pictures of new, nice things." I didn't even know how to explain it to him if he was that far away from me on what "beauty" was.
